Ingredients

  • 1 cup Chitra Rajma (light-colored kidney beans)
  • 2 medium onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (pureed)
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1½ tsp red chilli powder
  • 1½ tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

CHITRA RAJMA RECIPE

  1. Soak the Chitra Rajma overnight or for 8 hours.
  2. Boil Rajma in a pressure cooker with salt for 5–6 whistles until soft.
  3. Prepare the Masala: Heat oil, add cumin seeds and chopped onions. Sauté till golden brown..
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute..

  7. Add the boiled Chitra Rajma with a little water. Simmer on low flame for 15–20 minutes.
